About This Spot

Stepping into Restaurant Admiral feels like unwinding in a warmly lit corner of Eastern Europe, right in the heart of Dublin’s North City. The air carries a quiet hum of conversation, with a welcoming pace that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. The interior’s subtle nods to maritime themes and homely, old-world charm wrap guests in an atmosphere that's both comforting and a little adventurous — like joining friends around a well-loved table filled with stories and shared plates.

This is a place where food isn’t just fuel but a gentle journey through tastes and traditions. The scents drifting from the kitchen tease curiosity — a rich, earthy aroma of porcini mingling with the warm crust of freshly baked bread, or the faint, smoky allure of grilled Шашлик, evoking memories of open-air gatherings far from the city’s rush. It’s easy to lose track of time here, especially as the table fills with colorful, layered flavors. Whether it’s a hearty bowl of borsch with its tender beetroot and pork, or a modest dollop of creamy Mamaliga accompanying a rustic Friptura, each bite whispers stories of home kitchens and holiday feasts.

The staff’s gentle attentiveness adds to the experience, striking the perfect balance between friendly familiarity and respectful quietness. You feel looked after without ever being rushed, which invites lingering conversations and plans for future visits. It’s the kind of place where dishes like khachapuri, with its molten egg nestled in golden bread, become little celebrations of comfort, and even those new to Eastern European flavors find themselves intrigued and at ease.

Beyond the main courses, the dessert offerings complete the visit with subtle sweetness that feels lovingly made rather than overly polished — a final nod to the warmth and authenticity that defines Restaurant Admiral. It’s a spot that consistently draws diners back not through spectacle, but by quietly becoming a place you feel glad to have discovered.

Everything was tasty and beautifully presented. The salo was delicious, the potato dumplings were perfect, and the khachapuri was absolutely amazing. The borscht was a bit surprising — it felt like there was some extra seasoning that didn’t quite fit. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. Overall, a great experience Also, the ‘Napoleon’ cake didn’t really taste like a true Napoleon — more like a nice cake, but not the classic version. The only small thing that felt odd was the bare table — it would be nicer with a tablecloth or at least a placemat

Hey folks so today I will tell a little story when I was a young rookie I fly couple time to my uncle Glen from Odessa and his relatives for a wonderful place and all on Crimea islands and Ukraine … it was where memorable time and like a time machine with the situation in our crazy days , but never the less it’s a amazing place the old school design from the sea place and pirates and the food , as I might be a regular client I can say the food is wonderful especially it’s good as basic in sense of monumental good , it’s stand from local places because food is in a way so simple and so rich with taste and flavour and variety of dishes , my favourite it’s Ukrainian Borsch,Kharcho,Pork BBQ, ,Kholodets , Eggplant caviar …. I not give 5 stars only to have opportunity for the future , when admiral maybe invent or make something new ;)there are alway way up , overall this place should be in you list of day out ….

Been to this place 3 times now with my Girlfriend. She introduced me to Eastern European food so I was interested to try some. Everytime we have been here the food is absolutely top notch and amazing. The staff as well as so welcoming. What I would recommend is Borscht (my favourite dish ever now ), khachapuri is always a good choice, Solyanka is new and so is the cheburek. Honestly you could order anything and it will be amazing. Definitely a place to check out if you are in Dublin and craving some eastern European food and hospitality.

Overall really enjoyed our experience dining here for the first time, my partner was craving the pork knuckle so mainly came in for that, he loved it, massive portion. I ordered the chicken Kiev, was very tasty, but found it to be an unexpectedly small portion for the price. Desserts were lovely. Service was super, overall a really quality dinner, will definitely come back to try different dishes :)

Hands down best food I had on my trip. The fresh vegetables? Simple, delicious, and the cheese was exquisite. The Cheburek with chicken complimented with a delectable sour cream sauce? To die for. The Ukrainian dumplings with onions sour cream and dill???? Incredible, amazing, and spectacular. If you’re coming to Dublin, make a stop here, or a few stops here. Cheers!
